These radiations are extremely useful in handling the surface of certain materials, aimed at an increased lifetime.
The lamps are also used to help with the paint adherence via UV based curing on surfaces requiring an excellent finish, typical of today’s consumer products.
The UV and IR lamps are extremely harmful to the living beings. However, with a proper wavelength and exposure they are an excellent solution for packing cleaning, food sterilization, sickness treatment, process preheating, painting drying, etc.
This type of radiation is used in medical applications, in the manufacture of automotive parts, in the surface treatments of electronic, graphic, analytic and scientific research items. The ultraviolet radiation has oxidizing, disinfecting properties (used in air and water cleaning) and for painting cure.
The lamp types and sizes vary from small leds with 10 x 10 mm to arc lamp with 3 m in length.
For a greater durability of the equipment, and in order to not expose people or parts regions which are not to receive radiation, these emitters rely on a shielded machinery.
Advantages of the correct use of UV lamps for environmental sterilization
Time saving on lamp replacement
The lamps have a lifespan of 10,000 hours, so maintenance staff will only change UV lamps once a year (on a three-shift basis). Thus, maintenance technicians can be directed to other tasks.
Ultraviolet cassettes consume little electrical power, about 320 watts per module, thus generating greater efficiency and lower cost.
Higher quality and less waste
With the use of ultraviolet cassettes, the air inside the room will be totally sterilized, thereby reducing bacteria and no waste of time or raw material, such as lactobacilli.
In order to avoid risks related to the exposure of people to ultraviolet rays, a security system is installed on the doors of the room where the cassettes are installed.
If the door is opened inadvertently, the lamps will be turned off instantly by the system.
This system will be redundant with the installation of motion sensors inside the room.

The cassette consists of a stainless steel reflector with brackets containing two high wattage 320 watt amalgam lamps.
The system is designed to use 220 volts at a frequency of 50/60 Hz.
Infrared is used on applications requiring heating by radiation, what provides an increased productivity due to the quick heat propagation.
Among the numerous applications the following stand out: drying of automotive painting, pre-treatment of plastic parts to be painted, and preheating of parts before starting the process.
There are three wave emitting ranges: short, medium and long. What differentiates each emitter type is the response type.
The emitters may have from 80 mm to 2 m in length. They need a cassete (lighting fixture) for the refrigeration and increase in the lifetime of the emitters.

Time saving when changing IR lamps
The lamps have a lifespan of 15,000 hours, so maintenance personnel will only change the emitters once every 3 years (on a two-shift basis). Thus, maintenance technicians can be directed to other tasks.
The IR radiation does not dissipate 360°, but is directed through a 30° angle to the process. Thus, the power consumed that transforms into radiation is totally directed to the process, without waste.
With higher irradiation efficiency the speed of a conveyor belt can be increased, consequently there will be increased productivity. If our IR emitters are used, with the same power consumed today, production may be higher in proportion to a higher speed of the conveyor.
The power of the emitters can be electronically controlled very accurately allowing full process control. The control with hot air is very difficult and very imprecise.
Value of investment in infrastructure:
If there is already an installed infrastructure we analyze the investment for the installation of the emitters, which can be zero u> if the existing infrastructure already contemplates the operating requirements of our IR emitters.
No cooling system required:
Even with 5KW of power, the system does not need cooling, thereby reducing maintenance costs, energy and investments with start up.
